Amtran cuts 32-inch LCD TV prices 10% in North American market
In an attempt to stimulate weak demand in the LCD TV market, Amtran Technology slashed prices for its own brand 32-inch LCD TVs in North America by US$100 in late April, according to toady's Chinese-language Commercial Times. The company now is offering its 32-inch model for US$849, the paper noted.

Hitachi and Matsushita to boost LCD TV output
A liquid crystal display venture between Hitachi Ltd. and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. said on Wednesday it will invest about 80 billion yen ($713 million) to boost output of high-end panels due to growing LCD TV demand.
