Car damaged: Police are looking for the person who used an object to damage the front, sides and rear of a 1998 Honda Civic parked in the 200 block of Tanner Avenue on Friday afternoon. Damage is estimated at $1,800, police said.

3 jail escapees who beat guards captured 
MORGANTON - Three inmates who beat and handcuffed their Burke County jailers before escaping late Wednesday were captured hours later about 60 miles away in Concord after a statewide manhunt.
