ARLINGTON, Va. Navy officials discovered the names, birthdates and Social Security numbers of 28,000 sailors and family members posted on a civilian Web site this week, potentially exposing thousands of people to identity theft crimes, service officials announced Friday.

Man Sentenced For Identity Theft 
SEATTLE -- A 43-year-old Issaquah man was sentenced Monday to more than four years in prison for identity theft and bank fraud. Scott Daniel Putnam was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Seattle to 51 months and ordered to pay more than $28,000 in restitution.
