Identity thefts are increasing in Foothills
Ahwatukee Foothills may have a lack of violent crimes compared to other parts of Phoenix, but it's not immune to crime that can still pack a punch - to your credit. Police in Ahwatukee are becoming concerned for what they believe could be an increase in identity theft in the area, after noticing a spike in complaints coming in over the last month, they said.

Rep. Christopher H. Smith, R-N.J., is co-sponsoring legislation introduced by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., to require the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide free credit reports to ex-service members, if their personal information was on computer files recently stolen from the VA.
