TAMPA - A burglary in a Washington suburb this month netted the names, birth dates and Social Security numbers of 26.5 million veterans, most of whom had been discharged since 1975. Such a security breach could make those veterans vulnerable to credit card fraud, and it's a reminder of the potential for identity theft that faces virtually everyone these days.
